Becoming a Member
We know you’re eager to enjoy the benefits of becoming a TrailNorth member. TrailNorth offers membership to:
- Persons who live, work, worship, or attend school or businesses and legal entities located in Essex, Washington, Warren, Clinton, and Franklin Counties in New York and Addison County in Vermont.
- Immediate family members of a person eligible for membership. An immediate family member is defined as a spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, or grandchild. This would include step-parents, step-children, step-siblings, and adopted relationships.
- Eligibility also extends to unrelated persons who share a residence and who maintain a single economic unit. This includes any person who is a permanent member of and helps maintain the household.
Open an Account Online
Please have the following available: (Our online application takes less than 10 minutes).
- Your social security number
- A state-issued Driver’s License, State or Military ID
- A credit or debit card or US checking or savings account to fund your new account. This minimum deposit of $5.00 per member will represent a membership share in the Credit Union.
Open an Account in a TrailNorth branch
Schedule An Appointment
Please bring the following documents with you to open an account:
- A driver's license, plus proof of eligibility.
- A document showing a Social Security number such as a Social Security Card, a copy of a Social Security Card, or a payroll stub.
- Cash or a check for at least $5.00 to make your initial deposit ($10.00 for Joint accounts). This initial deposit represents your membership share in the credit union.
Open an Account By Mail
